Restoring the Local Free Press: Reclaiming Lawful Governance and the Republican Form of Government

Local Free Press Journalism: The Cornerstone of Honest Governance, Land Rights, and County–State Assembly Cooperation

You’ve probably noticed it: local newspapers are closing down, one after another. Taylorsville lost The Spencer Magnet not long ago, and many counties see their trusted news sources disappearing like dust in the wind. This isn’t just about missing headlines. It’s about losing the eyes and ears that keep governments honest. It’s about losing the connection between the people and the law that’s supposed to serve them.

Our local and State Assemblies are supposed to represent Sovereign Americans — the American State Nationals and American State Citizens who live, breathe, and work on this land and soil. But without honest local journalism rooted in these very soils and lawful jurisdictions, governance becomes invisible. Municipal law enforcement can’t even tell if real local government exists in the areas they patrol. They lose sight of who truly lives here — beyond U.S. Citizens tied to federal systems, but the Sovereign Americans, rightful holders of authority in a republican form of government.

When the Watchers Disappear, How Can Law Enforcement Know Whom to Serve?

It’s simple: they can’t. Without a local American Free Press reporting honestly and showing where lawful governance operates, sheriffs and officers patrol unaware of the real political landscape. They answer to corporate municipal codes, often unaware that many Sovereign Americans remain uncounted or forgotten — living as native sons and daughters of the land, not as mere subjects of a federal corporation.

That’s why we must rebuild a trustworthy working relationship with the elected Municipal sheriff — the de facto Law Enforcement, alongside the de jure guardian protector of our counties which is the County Reeve (Soil Jurisdiction Sheriff). As do both, their duties run deepest to the people on the land, not simply those under federal jurisdiction. To do this, the American people have to step into the light themselves.

We need to tell our stories, report the full truth of all such realities, and bring to attention what matters — not just for us but for our neighbors. This isn’t just reporting; it’s reclaiming the narrative, the rightful authority, and the future.

Local and State Assemblies: Two Sides of the Same Coin

Here’s something worth considering — the local County Assembly and the American State Assembly are distinct authorities, but they are tied together in a natural, complementary way. When local communities shine light on the workings of both, a fuller picture emerges, and governance can be better comprehended and supported.

Take this small Substack newsletter as an example. It lends its reporting on the existence of both county and state-level governance, showing how local efforts contribute to the bigger whole. Imagine many more communities doing this, producing newsworthy, relevant content about their State Assembly while spotlighting their own County Assembly’s role. It’s a simple, powerful way to ensure no authority operates in the shadows — both bodies seen, respected, and held accountable.

Land and Soil Jurisdiction: The Foundation We Stand On

Land means more than property lines or Municipal, corporate addresses. It is the jurisdictional foundation — the bedrock of lawful government. Protecting the land and soil we live on means safeguarding the boundaries that define who governs and how authority flows.

Group ideas like the American County Free Press call attention to these truths, warning us when private contracts or Municipal agendas move forward without transparency. Surveillance technology deals or other large projects can quietly slip through when we’re not watching, weakening our county’s lawful Soil Jurisdiction.

Knowledge Is Power — And We Have Resources

If you want to learn more about your rights as a Sovereign American or discover how lawful governance functions apart from corporate and federal systems, take some time to explore:

  • pktfnews.org, for news and education rooted in sound land-based jurisdiction

  • annavonreitz.com, for deep insights on restoring lawful County and State Assemblies

These sites have rich, practical information that helps the American people reclaim their place within a republican form of government — a government of, by, and for the people, grounded in the land and soil we call home.

A Call to Action — Together, We Can Bring Back What Was Lost

This is more than a call for news stories. It’s a call to rekindle our attention, to shine light into corners darkened by absence of reporting. It’s a call to build bridges with all sheriffs and local officials, to make sure every voice matters, and every lawful authority is acknowledged.

The future depends on us. When American State Nationals and American State Citizens take ownership of their stories and governance, when local news work blooms again like a spring after a long winter, our counties will no longer be blind spots. Transparency will flourish. The republican form of government guaranteed to the American people will no longer be just words on paper but a living, breathing reality.

We all hold a pen in our hand — the pen of the free press. Together, let’s write the chapters our counties deserve.

If you want to dive deeper, read the Substack article here. It explores these issues in detail and can be a guide as you take the first steps toward building this new wave of community awareness for your own beautiful American County and State.

Let’s do this. For our land. For our people. For our government. And, for their lawful subcontractors.

Headline:

PKTF: Spotlight on Lawful Action — How Americans Are Restoring the Republican Form of Government in Their States Through Peaceful Efforts

Date: 14 August 2025
From: Joseph Hayse, Executive Director, Peacekeeping Task Force

In a nation where most headlines dwell on dysfunction, the Peacekeeping Task Force (PKTF) brings a distinctly different report — focused on what is working and who is making it work.

Assemblies in-session are extremely newsworthy!

This message goes not only to the public and the State and County Assemblies but also to all State‑of‑State Investigators and all Law Enforcement officers — subcontractors to the American government beholden to recognize the Superior Concurrent General Jurisdiction reserved to the American Land and Soil Jurisdiction Governments. Understanding the lawful structure of this nation’s governance is essential to properly supporting the Americans serving within it.

Local Governments & the People Who Serve Them

Across the States, local governments are made up of American State Nationals who freely volunteer to serve through lawful elections— men and women serving their own counties and States under the authority of the people functioning upon the land and soil, a natural divide of observable Jurisdiction between them and of themselves. Some of these same Americans also serve at the international level through the Federation of States, contributing to peacekeeping and peace‑building efforts that help protect the people and their assets through lawful protections of governance and ensure the peaceful restoration and safe success of all fifty States of the Union.

Clear Roles in the Republican Form of Government

  • American State Citizens — Willfully, voluntarily, and with full disclosure of service to the public, serve in State Assemblies. Every American State Citizen in such an office is properly elected of, by, and for the people as, We The People — their electors being other American State Nationals and American State Citizens among themselves as part of their own State.

  • American State Nationals in Service — Some serve at the Federation level by nomination or appointment, voluntarily and without coercion, while others simply hold no role or responsibility to serve beyond their own local community regarding keeping the peace and upholding the Public Law.

  • Together, they hold the rightful authority of the People and are preserving the Republican Form of Government guaranteed to the States and the People.

The Rise of County Assembly Websites & Local Free Press

True Journalism is the root that leads to what is true on the surface

Anything that occurs that is newsworthy takes place on a County

A growing network of County Assembly websites and local Free Press outlets is giving communities the power to tell their own stories — providing transparent, firsthand reporting on lawful governance in action. PKTF sees these locally rooted news efforts as essential to keeping the public informed of real progress and lawful self‑governance.

Shielding Against Outside Threats

PKTF plays an active role in helping to protect Assemblies and the Federation from reports of outside bad actors who attempt to:

  • Manufacture false allegations of criminal conduct.

  • Spread accusations of unsafe practices.

  • Attempt to wrongly tie lawful Americans to the so‑called “Sovereign Citizen” narrative — a label wholly rejected by all honorable American State Nationals and American State Citizens.

We work directly with de jure peacekeeping officers and de facto law enforcement to document, and deny claimed associations, ensuring that lawful assemblies remain uncompromised and clearly recognized as the legitimate American Government under American Common Law which is the Public Law.

Our Commitment

While others may focus solely on warning that “something must be done,” PKTF shows what is being done — the lawful remedies, community actions, peaceful solutions, fair remedies, and principled public service that are sometimes quietly, but wholeheartedly steadily restoring each nation-State and State of the Union.

This is the work of genuine Americans — grounded in law, working in peace, and preserving for the future a true Republican Form of Government.

Respectfully,
Joseph Hayse

Restoring County and State Sovereignty in Federal Immigration Raids: A Responsible Path Forward

Balancing Federal Enforcement, Local Sovereignty, and Community Safety in America’s Most Contested Cities

In recent days and weeks, the United States has witnessed a surge in federal immigration enforcement actions—particularly in major metropolitan areas. These events have reignited crucial discussions about the constitutional roles of county sheriffs, the sovereignty of states and counties, and the importance of public safety and transparency in densely populated urban centers.

The Role of Political Theater and Media Manipulation

It is important to recognize that well-educated and informed Americans are increasingly aware of the political theater that unfolds around these issues. Both major parties and their representatives often engage in narrative-building that is not only counter-productive but also undermines the well-being of the lawful people who strive to live peacefully together.

Legacy media sources frequently amplify and manipulate these narratives, fueling division and fostering negative perceptions of events wherever political persuasions clash. In this environment, the political arena itself bears significant responsibility for failing to act as a responsible steward. Instead of serving the public good, today’s service subcontractors at both the State and Federal levels often prioritize political advantage over their duty to the people.

This dynamic makes it all the more essential for communities to seek truth, demand transparency, and hold all levels of government accountable to the principles of sovereignty, lawful conduct, and genuine public service.
